C.I.D.E.R.’s 2015 Annual Fund Drive kicks off on February 14th. The tag-line for this Fund Drive is “Love Your Neighbors”.
Grand Isle County is a beautiful and special place to live, but for our rapidly growing population of elders it also presents some significant challenges to their ability to “age in place” with independence and dignity. Access to essential resources and services is limited and often requires a long ride to Burlington, St. Albans, and other locations off-island. Opportunities to enjoy social interaction with others, especially peers, can be difficult to find and result in feelings of social isolation.
Islanders recognized these challenges many years ago and created C.I.D.E.R as the Grand Isle County based and supported organization designed to help their older friends and neighbors continue living in their own homes and communities. Your tax deductible gift to C.I.D.E.R. supports door-to-door transportation, congregate and home delivered meals, exercise and wellness activities, home accessibility projects, socialization opportunities, and the effort to develop an ”on island” housing-with-services option for our frail elders.
C.I.D.E.R. relies upon the time and talent of community volunteers and the financial support of our friends and neighbors. This Valentine’s Day please take the opportunity to join us in our effort to make Grand Isle County the very best place in Vermont to live and age.
The mission of Champlain Islanders Developing Essential Resources, Inc. (C.I.D.E.R.), is to develop and foster resources that enable the people of Grand Isle County to live in their community with dignity. C.I.D.E.R. accomplishes this by providing direct services and collaborating with other individuals and groups. C.I.D.E.R. feels a special responsibility to elders and persons with disabilities.
C.I.D.E.R. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations and gifts to C.I.D.E.R. are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.
If you are thinking about a way to continue contributing to your community for years to come, please consider including a gift to C.I.D.E.R. in your Will. Other options include naming C.I.D.E.R. as a beneficiary of your pension or life insurance policy, or giving a gift of non-cash assets such as stock or real estate. Please contact the C.I.D.E.R. office at (802) 372-6425 for more information.
Thank you for your generous support!
