  • EXERCISE PROGRAMS
    • The Strong Living Program is a community-based, group exercise program for older adults and was originally a research project coming out of Tufts University . It was designed to translate the results of research on exercise and aging into practical opportunities for older adults to exercise on a regular basis in a safe and effective way.
    • The Silver Sneakers Program - Based on the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program, this class is not only safe for most people, but frequently doctor-recommended for folks with arthritis, joint replacement, heart disease, and diabetes, as well as healthy prople who just want to keep their range of motion and joint comfort.
    • Starting in early 2008 CIDER is sponsoring a t'ai chi program for older adults or persons with disabilities.
    • In the fall of 2007, with money from a "Take Action" grant from the Federal Department of Health and Services, C.I.D.E.R. began providing transportation to a local mall for seniors to walk in the morning. It is the hope that this program can be augmented in the summer by adding transportation to a local State Park where paved, flat walking trails are available.
