Transportation

C.I.D.E.R. contracts with the regional public transit program (Green Mountain Transit) to provide door to door transportation for Grand Isle County seniors (60+) and persons with disabilities, as defined by the Americans with disabilities Act.

If you need a ride, we are here with our fleet which consists of:

  • two 14 passenger lift-equipped, body on chassis buses (or 3 wheelchairs each)

  • four 3 passenger ramp equipped minivan (or 1 wheelchair each)

  • 4 Compact AWD SUVs

  • Various private automobiles

How does this work?

RIdes can be scheduled by calling C.I.D.E.R. at least 48 hours in advance for ridership during regular weekday hours, (e.g.from 8 am to 5pm). Though we try to accommodate early morning, evening and weekend requests as well.

If you are interested in getting a ride:

CALL 802-372 6425 OR EMAIL Info@cidervt.org

If you are interested in joining our crew of volunteer drivers (some mileage can be reimbursed)

CALL 802- 372 6425 OR EMAIL Info@cidervt.org

How is this funded?

The funding to operate these vehicles comes from several sources including a grant from the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans), billable and contracted services (e.g. Medicaid), rider donations, United Way of Northwest Vermont, and our general fund raising. There is no set charge for riding on one of these vehicles, however donations are always gratefully accepted and encouraged.
