C.I.D.E.R. contracts with the regional public transit program (Green Mountain Transit) to provide door to door transportation for Grand Isle County seniors (60+) and persons with disabilities, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act.

How does this work?

Rides can be scheduled by calling C.I.D.E.R. at least 48 hours in advance for ridership during regular weekday hours, from 8 am to 5pm, although we try to accommodate early morning, evening and weekend requests as well.

How is this funded?

The funding to operate these vehicles comes from several sources including a grant from the Vermont Agency of Transportation, billable and contracted services, like Medicaid, United Way of Northwest Vermont, rider donations, and our general fundraising. There is no set charge for scheduling a ride, however, donations are always gratefully accepted and encouraged.
